ROOTED IN IDENTITY
About Engrafted Minds
Why engrafted? The term engrafted means the removal of something old and the adding of something new in a firm or permanent way. Engrafted Minds was cultivated to help transform the mindsets of students. At Engrafted Minds, we believe that academic excellence is only truly sustainable when students feel rooted in their sense of self within a supportive community.
Our sessions are meticulously designed to address the unique challenges of modern education, serving as a bridge between students and educators to champion student well-being. By focusing on self-discovery and collective belonging, we help your institution move toward a vibrant culture of advocacy and student purpose.
Our Mission
At Engrafted Minds, we believe that identity is the bedrock of student success. We partner with school leaders and college staff to cultivate environments where every student feels seen, heard, and valued. By rooting academic journeys in a clear sense of self, we transform educational spaces into hubs of holistic growth.
Our work is centered on the vital intersection of mental health and community. Through advocacy and engagement, we provide students with the tools to navigate challenges, branching out into a life of purpose. Together, we are bridging the gap between potential and impact, ensuring no student walks their path alone.
Meet the Founder:
Jamil Joseph
A significant challenge I've noticed in the DMV area, is a universal theme in our students, that theme being unspoken trauma resulting in students acting as who they think they should be, rather than being who they truly are. As a local parent I founded Engrafted Minds to be a bridge between where students are and where they are meant to be. My mission is to transform educational cultures into spaces of true advocacy, where every student branches out into a life filled with purpose and belonging. With a background in crisis intervention and theater I bring compassion, entertainment and solutions to engage students and educators alike .

I've never had anyone actually help me come up with ways to help myself and actually speak to me like I'm a person. Thank you for making me feel seen.

You have a way that you talk that makes me feel like you care. I don't think I've experienced that before.

You take what I'm feeling and make me enjoy opening up, I can't say I've ever felt comfortable speaking on my trauma
